CLIVE, Iowa – A West Des Moines man has claimed a $100,000 lottery prize
Timothy Wilson won the third of eight top prizes in the Iowa Lottery's "The Lucky Game Book" scratch game.
Wilson bought his winning ticket at Kum & Go, 3104 University Ave. in Des Moines. He claimed his prize on May 7 at lottery headquarters in Clive.
"I was so excited, I didn't know what I thought," said Wilson, 51. "I have done scratch tickets quite a bit in the past, but I've never won anything this big."
The Lucky Game Book includes six pages of games with each ticket.
"That's one of my favorite ones I always like to play," he said. "It has more games and I think you get more for your buck."
Wilson, who served in the military, said he is unsure what he'll do with the winnings. He's shared past prizes with others and is considering donating some of the money to veterans' causes.
The Lucky Game Book game is a $20 scratch ticket. More details about how to play this game, and the number of prizes still up for grabs in it, can be found on the Iowa Lottery's website, www.ialottery.com.
