CLIVE, Iowa — An eastern Iowa man has won a lottery prize of nearly $300,000.

Robert O'Howell of Clarence won a jackpot prize of $297,317 in the Iowa Lottery's "Super 7s Progressive" InstaPlay game. He purchased his winning ticket at Casey's, 93 Lombard St. in Clarence, and claimed his prize Thursday at the lottery's main office in Clive.

The Super 7s jackpot starts at $50,000 and increases with each ticket sold statewide until it is won. The jackpot, last claimed in March, had grown for nearly six months before O'Howell's win.

InstaPlay combines features of scratch and lotto games. Tickets are printed on demand from lottery terminals rather than being pre-printed, and are sometimes called "scratchless" because there is no security coating to remove.

InstaPlay games range in price from $1 to $30. For more information, visit ialottery.com.
