CLIVE, Iowa — A central Iowa man has won a $300,000 lottery prize.

Robert Chamberlain of Clive won a top prize in the Iowa Lottery's "Ruby Red Crossword" scratch game. He purchased his winning ticket at Casey's, 6120 Douglas Ave. in Des Moines, and claimed his prize Monday at the lottery's main office in Clive.

Ruby Red Crossword is a $30 scratch game that features 16 top prizes of $300,000, 47 prizes of $10,000 and overall odds of 1 in 2.29. For more information about this game, and the number of prizes still available, visit www.ialottery.com.

Since the lottery's start in 1985, its players have won more than $6.3 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised more than $2.6 billion for the state programs that benefit all Iowans.

Today, lottery proceeds help our state in multiple ways. They help Iowa veterans and their families through the Iowa Veterans Trust Fund. They help the families of Iowa peace officers, firefighters and corrections employees who die in the line of duty. And they provide help for a variety of significant projects through the state General Fund.
