How To Play*
Powerball Xs & Os™ is a draw-based game similar to other lotto games like Powerball and Millionaire for Life. It costs $5 per play and
has the BEST ODDS of all the national draw games! The ticket prints straight from the terminal.
You can choose your own NFL team logos, 8 out of 32, or ask for an Easy Pick to have the lottery terminal or self-service kiosk to select the
teams on your ticket. Check the multi-draw box to buy tickets for up to 10 consecutive drawings at a time.
Powerball Xs & Os drawings are held weekly on Sundays at approximately 9:00 p.m. Here in Iowa, tickets may be purchased until 7:59 p.m.
each day.
Powerball prizes won in Iowa must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing in which they were won.
Prizes & Odds**
Cash Option vs. Annuity Option
When a player wins the jackpot, they can choose to receive the prize in annuity payments over time or take a lump-sum payment. A player has
60 days from the date they claim their prize in Iowa to choose the cash or annuity option.
If the player selects the cash option, they will receive a single payment equal to the amount available in the jackpot prize pool from the
sale of tickets in the game. If the player chooses the annuity option, the prize will be paid in 30 payments over 29 years. The annual
payment will increase by 5 percent to accommodate for factors such as inflation. If the cost to purchase the annuity is less than $250,000,
the lottery may elect to pay the prize as "cash."
Fans can enter both winning and nonwinning eligible tickets into the new national Powerball promotional prize program, featuring exclusive
prize drawings. You can enter them as soon as you purchase them – there's no need to wait for the drawing!
Every ticket entered earns you points that you can enter for a chance to win the prizes you want most. Best of all, there is no additional

Powerball Xs & Os™ launched Sep. 8 2026, in Iowa and 23 other jurisdictions. The game joined the
Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL)
lineup, which also includes Powerball, Millionaire for Life and Lotto America in Iowa.
