West Des Moines Man Wins $500,000 Lottery Prize

Paul Beckman is Second Big Central Iowa Winner This Week

CLIVE, Iowa — A West Des Moines man has won a $500,000 lottery prize, marking the second big lottery win this week in central Iowa.

Paul Beckman won a top prize in the Iowa Lottery's "500X" scratch game. He purchased his winning ticket at Hy-Vee, 1725 Jordan Creek Parkway in West Des Moines, and claimed his prize Wednesday at the lottery's Clive main office.

Beckman is the second top-prize winner this week in the 500X game. Christi Longstaff of West Des Moines claimed a $500,000 prize in the game on Tuesday.

500X is a $50 scratch game that features 12 top prizes of $500,000, 39 prizes of $25,000 and overall odds of 1 in 4.33. For more information about this game, and the number of prizes still available, visit www.ialottery.com.
